Not as good as last year’s

I’ve been looking forward to the release of the barrel-aged aromatic bitters for several months. I discovered King Floyd’s at random a little over a year ago, perusing the products available through Caputos.com, and on a whim ordered the cardamom bitters. They were so good that I splashed out for the barrel-aged aromatic bitters, which were just incredible. I actually enjoyed a Dry January because a few dashes of the bitters elevated sparkling water to something delicious, and turned whiskey cocktails into something amazing. I savored that bottle to the last drop. My impression is that this year’s bottling is just not as good - it seems to have weaker and less well-balanced flavor (herbal without the oakiness/acidity that rounded it out). I don’t necessarily trust my taste buds, and I don’t have anything left from last year to compare it to, but it didn’t rock my world. Note that my rating is only comparing this year to last year, not to other bitters, most of which pale by comparison.

great stuff

Really liven up other spirits. No need for the larger bottles. I bougt the large ones not realizing that.
